A review of abortion law in Scotland has recommended to “decriminalise” abortion and make abortion legal up to birth, as well as to remove safeguards and accountability measures that protect women.
Is abortion up to birth a "right"?
A group of “experts”, having been commissioned by the government, have presented their recommended changes to Scottish abortion law. Despite this group having confessed “the review itself does not cover the complex moral and ethical questions relating to abortion (such as when human life begins or concepts of personhood).” they concluded that abortion up to birth should be enshrined as a right in Scottish law.
Other recommended law changes include:
- Legalised sex-selective abortions
- No counselling legally required
- OBGYNs contractually obligated to perform abortions despite personal moral objections
- Women performing DIY abortions at any stage- decriminalised
- Coercion would be made possible by those “helping” woman have abortions avoiding legal investigation
- DIY aborted baby remains legally able to be disposed of anywhere the mother chooses
If you believe Scotland shouldn’t be a nation that allows the killing of its babies up to birth- reach out to your MSP either by using the SPUC email function or by sending them one of our postcards. We must let the government know, as the election approaches, that the public don’t support abortion up to birth.
A suppressed tragedy
18,710 babies have been killed by abortion in Scotland in just one year, 2024, the highest abortion rate ever in this nation. Little lives destroyed using surgical instruments or poisonous chemicals.

Too late for me?
Police Scotland have threatened to arrest anyone, publicly displaying the reality of abortion and have assumed the authority to decide what information women are allowed to know.
Tragically many women didn’t know this horrific reality and their babies are no longer with them, often leaving them struggling with grief and loss.
If this was you, we are sorry that society hid these truths from you. We are sorry that those in positions of authority didn’t tell you these facts. We believe women deserve reparations for the harm caused to them and their babies, not suppression of the facts.

Many women and men are not aware just how human, unique and valuable their child in the womb really is.
