MP “harassed” by a baby image - again!
On Wednesday, around 35 people participated in a pro-life demonstration in Walthamstow, organised by a coalition of pro-life groups. We were responding to the extreme amendments the local MP, Stella Creasy, has put forward as part of The Criminal Justice bill. Her amendments would remove sections 58, 59 and 60 of the Offences Against the Person Act - which would remove protections from the unborn child - essentially meaning women could abort their babies at home up to birth, and even conceal the birth and dispose of the baby’s body, without fear of prosecution.

The article linked below included factual errors and false accusations about our work, which we are highlighting and correcting in this post.
Stella Creasy: ‘When did we agree that motherhood had to be a struggle?’ by Rosamund Urwin was recently published in The Sunday Times on 16th January 2022.
Whilst in the statements made by Stella Creasy we are not specifically named, we are the activists behind the campaign she refers to, and our billboard banner along with our brand name is printed directly in between these statements of defamation about our campaign in Creasy’s constituency.

"What are we doing that bothers you?"
This question is put to prisoners of war to find out which activities are actually being effective.
For those whose concern is winning the war, the question is not, "What are we doing that folks back home will understand and appreciate?" The question is not, "What are we doing that those funding us are into?" The question is not, "What are we doing that doesn't provoke too much of a backlash, so that we can live peaceably enough alongside those on the other side - since we can never win anyway?"
The question is: "What are we doing that bothers you?"

Important Statement from CBR UK
MP Stella Creasy, in an attempt to divert attention from what she is legislating, is attempting to mischaracterise our volunteers and our work.
She accuses CBR UK of targeting and harassing her with the language and images we use.
She has also falsely claimed that we are somehow connected to individuals who have committed acts of violence. This is a dishonest and a disingenuous claim, as she knows perfectly well that we take a very clear anti-violence policy.
Stella Creasy on BBC Politics Live Continues her False Allegations Against CBR UK
MP Stella Creasy makes false allegations about CBR UK on BBC Politics Live, 4th October 2019. Claiming that the group are "connected to organisations around the world who have radicalised people to the point they’ve taken violence to people they disagree with."
Stella Creasy also calls the 9-week living fetus image "graphic and it’s scientifically incorrect", claiming that "a baby at 9 weeks is like the size of a poppy seed, it’s tiny....I would listen to the professionals on these things!"
"Why is it graphic?" asks the Telegraph's Tim Stanley, referring to the anti-abortion poster in Stella Creasy's constituency, "the image of a foetus that was on the poster, is simply an image of a foetus".
